Jon is an alumni of the Helena Senators, where he was a 2 way player as a pitcher and first baseman with his final legion season in 1999.  In 1999 he hit .453 to lead the Senators.  He played college baseball at the United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) in Kings Point, NY (2000-2003) where he was team captain and MVP in 2003.  A 4-year starter both on the mound and at first base, Jon also earned Skyline All-Conference honors his Junior and Senior seasons with the Mariners.  Jon graduated from the USMMA in 2003 with a Bachelors degree in Logistics and Intermodal Transportation.

 

Following college, Jon returned to the Helena American Legion Baseball program as an assistant coach with the Helena Reps from 2004 through 2010.  In 2011 he took over as the head coach of the Reps and he held that position for 7 seasons, compiling a 289-122 record (0.703 Win %).  In 2018, Jon took the head coaching job for the Helena Senators.  During his 7 year tenure as the Sens head coach, the Senators have appeared in 5 consecutive State Championships (2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024), won 2 State Championships (2021 and 2023), and taken second at the Northwest Regional Tournament (2021).  The Senators have compiled a 293-143 record (0.672 Win %) with Burnett as the head coach.  Jon has been selected as the Montana “AA” Coach of the Year 4 times (2020, 2021, 2022, 2023).

 

Jon resides in Clancy with his wife Jennifer and has three children and three bulldogs.

Anthony Hogan has been a pivotal figure in the Helena Senators baseball program as a player and a coach. As a player of the Senators, he made a lasting impact by setting records for RBI's and Runs scored while hitting .435. His exceptional performance on the field laid the groundwork for his extensive coaching career, where he has dedicated 15 years to mentoring and developing Helena Senator Baseball players.

 

Hogan has coached in four state consecutive state championship games from 2021 to 2024. He has helped lead the Helena Senators to two state championships in 2021 and 2023. In 2021 the Helena Senators were the runner ups at the Regional tournament. Hogan legacy with the Helena Senators is marked by both his record-setting playing career and his influential coaching role, making him a cornerstone of the team's storied history.
